NERVOUS SYSTEM

What is a nervous system? The nervous system is a collection of nerves, and specialised cells known as neurons that transmit signals between different parts of the body. Your brain has around 100 billion neurons and each communicates with thousands of others.

Why do we need the nervous system? Because without the nervous system you wouldn’t be able to move, function or even think. This is because the nervous system is what makes everything in your body work.

How does the nervous system work? The nervous system works by absorbing information through senses processing that information through a central brain, and using the information to trigger reactions throughout the rest of the body. The billions of neurons that are connected to each other in the body transmit the information.

Nervous system facts. Did you know that there are millions of nerve cells in the human body. This number has more of the of stars in the milky way. Also the human body alone has about 100 billion neurons, and in a child developing inside the womb, neurons grow at the rate of 250,000 neurons per minute. Did you know the nervous system is very quick, it can transmit impulses at a tremendous speed of 100 meters per second.

In conclusion, In my opinion the nervous system i cool and I want to learn more and more about it.
